Project Manager, Adrienne Cox along with Roger Johnson (City of Wilmington), Jenni Harris (UNCW), Chris O’Keefe (New Hanover County) and Ken Weeden (Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce) represented FOCUS at the Sustainable Communities Leadership Academy: Building a Sustainable Economic Future through Equity and Inclusion.
The leadership academy was led by Policy Link and the Institute of Sustainable Communities. It’s geared towards organizations that have received federal grants and provides an opportunity for those organizations to connect with peers in a productive setting.
PolicyLink/PERE, a national research and action institute advancing economic and social equity/the program for Environmental and Regional Equity, has awarded FOCUS a Regional Equity Profile. This will help build on the expanding assemblage of regional data that FOCUS will provide agencies and businesses located in southeastern N.C.
“Because of the commitment FOCUS has demonstrated in achieving equity outcomes in your region and your strong focus on regional economic resilience and growth, the PolicyLink team is excited to partner with FOCUS to complete a profile for your Sustainable Communities region,” Sarita Turner, PolicyLink Senior Associate, said.
