In time for school openings with students moving about by foot, skateboards, bikes, carpools and buses, New Hanover County (NHC) has launched the ‘Watch for Me NC’ campaign. They have partnered with NC DOT to increase the safety knowledge of drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists.
The goal of the program is to share two key points: safety and educational awareness for all North Carolina ‘movers’. Educational training is also being provided to law enforcement officials with the appreciation that these public servants can enforce the correct usage of the rules with consistency, as well as, lead by example, ensuring the safety of all.
NHC kicked off the education portion of the program in early August and it will continue throughout September. Educational activities are planned throughout the rest of the summer. Enforcement activities will take place in the fall. To learn more go to: watchformeNC.org
